Your 20s are weird. You’re in this time of technically being an adult but also trying to figure out who you are. I had a pretty standard upbringing in which I was taught that you go to school, you get a job in a stable industry, and that’s just what you do. But personally, I’ve always kind of gone against the grain. School for me was just a means to an end, and my first job was really just a foot in the door. One thing has always been consistent for me: my love for fashion.
In the midst of figuring out who you are, your 20s can also be a time to figure out what style feels the most like you. Looking back, my 20s were filled with “trying.” I tried to be the preppy sorority girl, the indie sleaze girl, the grungy girl, the corporate girl, the creative casual girl, and finally the confident Brand Director I know I am. Throughout those different eras I have started to understand what makes me feel like the best, most confident self and what doesn’t.
